This morning Ahmaad and I loaded up the Moondog Mobile and headed for Kirtland for the 7th Annual Jack Rabbit Run. This run helps raise money for Families of SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy), and had a great turn out.
Usually I hit the run/walk circuit and play the grand marshall role: Greet people during registration, then start the race then make my way to Waffle House with Ahmaad for waffles (me) and a triple order of Hash Browns (Ahmaad).
But this morning I met Jack, who is the son of Barry and Mary Beth. Jack was diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy, which means he can't sit on his own and will never walk. But Jack isn't letting any of that get him down. He was an energenic smart kid who was all smiles on this morning. He was cruising in his power wheelchair making sure everyone was having a great time. The run was named in his honor.
Jack told me about his favorite players LeBron James and Brady Quinn, and he was even wearing a Quinn jersey given to him by Brady himself.
I realized I was one of the faster people at the event when I beat this cookie in a foot race (and then ate him with a giant glass of milk). Which got me thinking.....
So while I was preparing to ceremonially kick off the race, I was inspired by Jack and decided I wanted to run in his honor. My time wasn't much to write home (or a blog) about, so I wont share that. I think I was tired from going all Usain Bolt on Mr. Sugar Cookie, otherwise my time would have been better.
Afterwards I was a little tired, but the waffles never tasted better.

One of the most common questions I get is: What do you do other than games?
In a word, I do it all. From birthday parties, to mall openings, private business meetings, camps, parades, charity fucntions, walks, runs, and everything in between. I like to think that every appearance is different (except the Taste of Cleveland....those are all the same), which is the best and worst part of the dog's life. It's never boring, but you can never know quite what to expect.
I had a great event over the weekend: A Bachelorette Party. That's right. You've heard of the Chippendales....I guess they were busy, so this party hired the Chippendog Dancer.
It was a blast and I wanted to thank the Maitron of Honor for including me in the festivites (of which I was but a small part). Hopefully the bride and her crew had as much fun as I did.
As noted, most appearances are the different. This one was different in more ways than one: the dress code was a little different and I got paid in singles.
Eat your heart out Slider! I get all the best gigs in Cleveland!

In an effort to protect the innocent, I did censor the photo, but you get the idea.....who knows if her fiance knew about this! Sadly, she was too shocked to misbehave. And of course I am always the perfect gentleman.
One might think that Cleveland would taste the same day to day, but one would be wrong. I stopped down to the Taste of Cleveland on Sunday and it was different.
First of all....no Dora the Explora. A bit disappointing, but I quickly got over it when I found the Beer Slide event. I have amazing beer sliding skillz (who knew), but the downside is I smelled like a brewery/drunken clown after taking part. I am sure there were a few parents who left the photo session wondering what I did on my break.
Bad smells aside, I had a great time once again at the FSN booth. There was mass confusion for those who got their photos taken by the "pro" (who then printed them out for you right there) and our own "amatuer" photographer/Hype-Man Ahmaad (who you have to come to cavfanatic.com to see your sweet self with me. Everyone thought that Ahmaad's photos were going to magically print out. And if you know Ahmaad like I do....there is no magic.
That last sentence didn't come out exactly like I had intended.
Anywho, another day, another set of photos starring me and you (you know who you are). Click the link below and take a gander. There are 116 photos....all are in focus.
See you Monday noon to two as I wrap up my 4 day stint at the "Taste" (as the carnies call it). I call Tuesday as Dog Labor Day....since I got pooched into working on Labor Day.
When i first got invited to Taste of Cleveland with FSN, I wasn't sure it was a good idea. Cleveland is perfectly nice, but I am not sure I want to taste it....or paint it. As it turns out, the event has nothing to do with actually tasting pavement or buildings, its about food and what not.
The World's Sexiest Hype-Man Ahmaad took pictures during my Saturday Shift....you can see them here:
