    Final Answer (with video)

Tuesday, April 14, 2009, 04:35 PM EST [General]

I found out later, this is British for toilet

Last night I doubled down on Final Jeopardy...and of course metaphorically I won.  Really everyone wins at Half-Priced Fish and Chips Trivia night at The Pub from The Flying Monkeys right down to The Oblock Table.

Back to me.....I won trivia, making me an award-winning trivia maven as well as an award-winning blogger.  Which is, of course, the Daily Double of useless knowledge and underpants journalism.  Hoo-rah.

In addition to pulling several difficult answers right out of my kilt I managed to entertain (very subjective) young and old.  Ahmaad and I also got totally crafty and put together this video for your enjoyment.  We have already enjoyed it, but I think it retains its freshness even after our initial viewings.

Here are all the photos from April's Trivia Night at The Pub.

I want to thank everyone at The Pub in Rocky River for the series of trivia nights.  We had a great time and look forward to seeing you again soon...espeically if you keep serving up those bonesless buffalo wings and dishing out trivia that I know all the answers to.

Is that your Final Answer? Trivia Night is Monday

Sunday, April 12, 2009, 09:50 PM EST [General]

All good things must end.  Actually I think all things must end, the quality of their being while going is likely not relevant.

Anywho...the final edition of Trivia Night is upon us and it should be a doozie.

I have been told I am a real draw for Trivia Night at the Pub, but I have also tasted the half-priced Fish and Chips and know the truth*.

As a public service I will once again provide a handful of answers before the event, giving the readers of my award-winning blog a nice edge against non-readers.

    I am huge.

At some point you can expect to use these answers:

    • Milton Bradley (the game maker, not the baseballer)
    • Savio Vega
    • Luka lived on the second floor
    • Oscar Gamble
    • Al Franken and Norm Coleman
    • 19
    • "The Fish that Saved Pittsburgh"
    • Waffles

So I have informed you of half price fish and chips, given away 8 answers, and notified you that the author of an award-winning blog will be in attendance....what else might you need to convince you to show up?

Ahmaad in a kilt?  I can see what I can do on that.  No promises...but I will say you might be disappointed in his legs.

As always I will have photos and perhaps video of my visit.  I plan to use the night to also celebrate a great season....actually do that every night....but this night will be no different.  I also might crank call Danny Ferry, stay tuned.

    Cavs' Mascot Day

Thursday, April 9, 2009, 09:54 PM EST [General]

Catch-up continues here at keyboard of my award-winning blog.  In an important side note:  keyboards don't clean themselves.  You need to pop a key out and shake out your keyboard at least once a month.

If you are reading this thinking "hey I've had this keyboard for 3 years and never cleaned it out"....first of all.....that's gross beyong blog words.  You might think about a new keyboard (helping to spur the economy), or at least hiring a professional cleaner.  You have 3 years of dead skin, donut parts, lint, fuzz, assorted (yet really gross) hairs, and a lot of stuff that you won't be able to identify.  I joke about a lot of things...this isn't one.  If you don't believe me....well, take a time out and see.  I'll wait.

I just realized, so far this blog is poorly named, which could jeapodize my award-winning ways.....thus back to the busines of the blog at hand.

We held our Sixth Annual Mascot Day at the Q on Sunday March 29th (making this blog about 11 days late, but who is counting?).  And, no, it's not a birthday party so you can put the cards and expensive gifts away (for now).  It's a party.  I am not vain enough to hold a party like that in my own honor.  Someone might want to share this morsel of info with one of the Cavalier Girls who earnestly wished me a happy birthday on 4 different occasions.  I can't tell you her name, but it starts with a "K" and rhymes with skate.  Sweet...but not so strong on the facts of the day.

    Coyote thinks pants are optionalAnywho.

We had 11 mascots join me for the party....which was better than last year's snowed out mascot party (where it was pretty much me and Skipper playing hopscotch).  Hilarity ensued.

I have some photos of the action and a video that is rated PG-13 for violence.

Blogfest 2009 continues.....now seriously, go clean out that nasty keyboard.

    Lake Erie Moonstars

Wednesday, April 8, 2009, 02:18 PM EST [General]

Ice is not safe for Dogs

As noted, I am playing catch-up on my award-winning blog.  The reason for playing catch-up (other than being behind) is that I have been playing other stuff....like hockey and mascot basketball

Last Saturday I had a trio of appearances (more award-winning blogs are forthcoming) including a visit to the Lake Erie Monsters game to celebrate the birds' birthday.

This provided me another chance to dominate my mascot brotheren in yet another sport (hockey, hoops, yahtzee, trivia....I do it all).  I think the final score was 2-1 in this icy classic.

You can see all the wacky antics of a dozen mascots in this photo gallery.

Thanks to Sully and the Monsters for a great night.  I was thristy when I left, but that's an issue for another installment of my award-winning blog.

Filling My Lungs in Central Michigan

Wednesday, April 8, 2009, 12:26 AM EST [General]

After a hectic end to March I have found myself way behind on my award-winning blog, leaving countless CavFanatics unplugged from the life and times of their favorite professional basketball mascot in Greater Cleveland.  For that I am sorry....and now comes my comeupance....several back-to-back-to-back blogs.  Enjoy.

In a rather hectic stretch I had a home game at the Q agains the hated Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday then a charity basketball game in Michigan on Saturday....and when I say Michigan I mean about midway up the mitten, at Central Michigan University (where former Cav and strapping lad Thunder Dan Majerle matriculated).

Me with an obscene birdThis event was a mascot game for the American Lung Association.  Going toe to toe with mascot luminaries like the Oreo Cookie and the Arby's Oven Mitt is difficult, but this was (as noted) a back-to-back game making my effort even more Herculean.

You can read more about the event here, including some video of me dominating the State Farm Bear and ticking Elmo (who, for the record, is appearantly attending CMU on a hoops scholarship).

Here is one rather shocking photo of a bird who thought it would be fun to streak during the game.  One side note....Cavs Hype Man Ahmaad repeatedly referred to this bird as a "Falcon" in error until the pesky bird came over to the scorers table to correct him.  In Ahmaad's defense, he also was working on a back-to-back.  However seeing an angry bird shouting at the surprised Hypeman was worth the price of admission.

I will also note that while the Oven Mitt had no game, Arby's popcorn chicken nuggets were enjoyed on the way home....and they are delicious.  Go with the buffalo sauce.

See photos from this mascot game here.
