We were one win away from going to the World Series last year and this year we are one of the worst teams in baseball. Atleast the Brewers are willing to take a chance to win. If we would have added a bat last year before the deadline there is no doubt in my mind that we would have beat the Red Sox and got by the Rockies. Let's face it Dolan said he would spend the money on free agents when it time and he didn't. Ha liar!! Shapiro has had a recentstring of bad luck with moves he has made, but the blame has to go to Dolan for not taking a chance to win.
That being said I like Idea of trading C.C to the Brewers. The Brewers chances of re-signing him are slim and we got Laporta and a few scrubs, but that player to be named can make or break the deal. Laporta is that power hitting OF that we need, but he is most likely 2 years away from helping us out. We may be able to compete ext year if we can land K-Rod and a bat, but I don't see Dolan spending the $. He is now officaially the worst owner in baseball......
Go Tribe!!
I can't wait for training camp to start, only a few weeks away from forgeting about this horrible Indians season.
I have created a group for OT posters from the groupee forums, so we have a place to chat a hold meaningful OT conversations away from all the noobs. Maybe we can start to have some fun and bring back the old OT days. Right now there are just too many new posters and it's hard to find any good threads...... So I think we should give a OT group a try until things get better. Don't get me wrong there are some new good posters and Cavs fans.
I am going to need a few months to get over the game yesterday. We had the game and I thought we were going to win after Lebrons steal and monstor dunk. We played are hearts out and left everything on the court, but Bostons bench outplayed are bench and that's what really hurt us. Lebron wanted to beat the Celtics in game 7 more than anything and I think he will be back next year determined to get a ring and I don't know if anyone or anything will stop him and the Cavs from reaching that goal.
Now that the offseason for the Cavs has officially started I think some changes need to be made. AV needs to go. Sorry to all the AV fans out there, but AV and Ben Wallace are the same type of player. We need a more offensive power forward. I hope we can resign Joe Smith, draft a center and maybe aquire a SG, because Wally isn't going to cut it next year.
Tommorrow afternoon at 3:30 we will find out what we are made of and I like our chances to pull the upset and be the 3rd team to win a game on the road in the 2nd round.
As long as we come out with energy and maintain it the whole game and don't let Rondo tear us up we will be in the game in the 4th quarter. The better defensive team will win and I hope Lebron doesn't try to do everthing on the offensive end, because we have the weapons to take out the Celtics. The key is finishing the Celtics off. We couldn't take advantage of many opportunities in games 1 and 5, but this time around I think we have learned from our prior mistakes.
The little things hurt us tonight. Eleven turnovers in the 1st half and too many missed free throws. The Celtics were hitting shots as the shot clock was winding down and I think it started to get to us. We failed to establish Z and KG played a great game, but I still believe we can and will win this series!!
The Cavs are the more physical team and if we execute on the offensive and defensive end like I know we can we will win out. I will not stand losing to the Celtics and Red Sox in the playoffs. We can hang with the Celtics on there home court, we just have to learn how to finish them off in the 2nd half. Don't give up hope yet, because I know this team still has it in them. Go Cavs!!
