    Chemistry or Combustion?

Wednesday, September 2, 2009, 02:09 AM EST [General]

Every year I find myself filled with hope and anticipation for the season ahead. As a fan I feel like "this is the year" every year. So that makes this blog seem fairly foolish and repetitive since the thesis of my position is that for the Cleveland Cavaliers and King James...this is the year.

Maybe its not so foolish for a die hard fan to continue to believe that this is the year, especially considering his team has a GM who continues to improvise, compromise, and improve the franchise's chances. On top of that Lebron James is a superstar who seems to add to his skill set and expand on those that he already has every off season. So what makes this year so much more the year than all the other ones?

Well it's actually a simple solution that was reached by complicated formulation. The Cleveland Cavalier's front office, including Mike Brown, have reviewed our weaknesses against the NBA's elite and put player personnel in place to patch up our defenses. The key to this is that they did this without interfering with any piece or person that was responsible for what got us to the point where we were last spring. It does not take a NBA analyst to understand the weakness our bench produced, or should I say did not produce. They could not score and they could not defend. This year that will change.

The Biggest aquisition, literally, is the pick up of Shaquille O'neal for Pavs and Big Ben. We traded two spares for a twenty four inch chrome rim. No doubt he will be blingin off the court and on the court, as he is still considered one of the best centers in the league behind Dwight and Yao. O'yea and his back up is Big Z who is a top center in the league as well with a different and complimentary skill set. He is the very first actual post presence in Cleveland during the Lebron era, matter of fact one of the few left in the league.

This year the Cavs will be flying, why? Because they got wings of course! Tall, Athletic, Can Shoot, Can Dunk, Can Defend. Better than old leg Wally and who knows what your gona get Pavlovic. Anthony Parker is a player. Simple as that, he can shoot, can defend, can finish, and can even intitiate the offense. Jamario Moon is a freak athlete. Someone else will be finishing an alley oop this year that is liable to be a #1 play on ESPN's top ten. Danny Green is a solid player who does everything well and nothing great, I do not say that in a bad way. Matter of fact its a compliment.

Resigning Varejao for 7-8 million? I mean WTF? FIRE FERRY! ........lol. I am only kidding. The Wild Thing is like Jordan's Rodman. He makes winning plays. He is in the game in the crunch time because Mike Brown knows he will fight and will sacrifice anything to win. O and by the way we got another player exactly in his mold with the same heart and passion... Leon Powe. I hate the Celtics, but I loved Powe and us getting him is a blessing. We can let Hickson, Jackson, and hopefully Kurz to grow and develop early in the season. If none of them are up to par by playoffs we pull Leon Powe out of the Bullpen.

There are a lot of questions about this year. Will Shaq let Lebron be the King? Will we trade one of our core players? Will we have the same chemistry? The questions we have off the court pale to comparison to the answers we have on the court. So is this the year? Hell yeah this is the year! This is our year, GO CAVS!!!

    the beginning

Monday, November 10, 2008, 11:10 PM EST [General]

season six has begun... the cavs new team has started... lebron has a new teamate in mo williams and the cavs are totally transformed from a year ago.

delonte west and boobie gibson- neither of these two took it personal when the team picked up mo williams. instead they appreciated the aquisition as it makes our team that much better

andy v- we all took it personal when he held out for a better contract and now look at him. i am now wishing we gave him wat he wanted last year because we wont be the same without him. he could even be our starting center when big z is retired

jj hickson- noone saw this kid coming, we all wanted ferry's head on a plate and this was the straw that broke the camels back. now look at the kid, he is a talent and i am excited about the youth on this team

wally z and e snow- about 20 mill in contracts coming off the books this summer... that sounds like good money to re sign andy varejao and pick up another contributor at the deadline

lebron james... he is lebron james and we are all a witness...

    it has begun...
