rant (previously posted in "Around The NBA."

    Okay...

In the NBA rulebook, it states that you're allowed to change your pivot foot as long as you shoot or pass before it hits the ground again. This is not the case in any other basketball league on any level.

Is it me, or is the only player that is entitled to this rule Kobe Bryant? Every time Kobe pivots in the in the elbow area to the block area, the commentators go, "Oh, good move." When LeBron, or any other player, does this, they're whistled for a travel.

This isn't a case of me just making an assumption because of the awkwardness of a player's movement. I actually looked closely at Kobe's feet. Every time he does that pivot, he changes his pivot foot. Sometimes, he travels, even according to the rulebook, other times, he gets rid of the ball before his pivot foot reestablishes.

    So, in short:

    A. If Kobe pulled that move in any other league, it would be a travel. So, is it really THAT fundamentally sound?

    B. He often travels even according to the NBA rulebook.

    and

    C. No other player in the league is allowed to benefit from this rule. Should it be called the "Kobe rule?"

Post about the state of the team

Posted by me in a thread...

I and others have said (since the shaquisition) that we still need another piece. Another bigman would have been great. I'm  a big JJ fan, but I'm not sure if he'll be consistently reliable this year. Brandon Bass would have been a perfect fit. I don't think we even contacted him.

I don't get the Leon Powe signing. I mean, why do people say we passed on Blair? Because of his knees, right? Powe has had knee problems since high school. He has had multiple knee surgeries, two micro-fracture surgeriesif I'm not mistaken. Blair is basically a more athletic, stronger, more offensively skilled Leon Powe.

Now, we basically have no reliable back up power forward.

What REALLY gets me is that we still have no offensive game plan. We're still using the "random offense" that Mike Brown is infamous for.

I was against the idea of trading for Stephen Jackson, but now after seeing that we have no game plan, I'm all for acquiring another creator, no matter who it is.

Ok, I agree with most of your signature, but trade Aleksandor Pavlovich? I think Sasha is one of our clutch players.

There's talks that Miami wants Wild Thing for Marion. I say either give them Wild Thing or give them Szczerbiak. Personally I say give them Wally because this is the best year that Andy's had and Wally is overrated.

I have a been a Phoenix Suns fan way before I was a Cavs fan and I was horribly disgusted with D'Antoni when they traded Shawn for Shaq. But the highlight is that Clevelandmight acquire Marion. YAY!
